Mc Kee Trophy Results
2009
The Mc Kee Trophy was sailed from
the South Boston Yacht Club the weekend of September 19-20, 2009. This year there were 14 boats here to compete for the Trophy.
There were 2 races sailed on Saturday and 1 race on Sunday. The weather was great and the tide was high
around noon. Saturday the wind was from the N-N W around 10-15 with gusts of 20+. Upwind was a drop mark put up near the shore of Castle Island. The first race was up to Castle Island then downwind
to Long Island Bridge then back to finish. The second race was to the same up wind mark then down wind through the bridge
to mark N in Quincy Bay, then backup to the drop mark, then downwind to finish.
Sunday was a beautiful day with a wind from the W-SW starting light then building to a little more than 10
mph. Today’s race was a twice around course upwind to mark “C” by Marina Bay then downwind to mark “A”
a day mark by Castle Island. Hope everyone had a good time.
