An annual open competition initiated in 1984 by the members and friends of the Cohasset Yacht Club to honor their member Richard A. Sullivan.  Dick Sullivan is a past National 210 Champion, a past class President and an indefatigable worker for the Association.  During his presidency, he initiated and successfully carried out the conversion of the class from wood to fiberglass construction.  As an attorney, he and his brother Ralph did the legal work necessary to secure the Association recognition by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a non-profit corporation and by the Federal government as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.  By leading the way for East Coast participation in the mid-West regattas, he was instrumental in unifying the class and upgrading the competition in both regions.
